In the new video published on Audio Effetti Stream, our Product Specialist Roberto Scioni presents D-Drive by LEM Commercial, the new series of professional amplifiers developed to bring together amplification, DSP processing, audio networking and web control in a compact one-rack-unit platform.
In a professional audio system, today it is no longer enough to choose an amplifier based only on power. The ability to configure, process, monitor and integrate the system on the network can make a real difference in the design and, above all, in the daily operation of the installation.
That is exactly the approach behind D-Drive.
The series includes D-Drive 1.8k4-ae and D-Drive 1.8k4-Dante, two models based on the same hardware platform, the same advanced DSP and the same web-based control architecture, but different in their audio-over-IP connectivity: AES67 and Dante respectively.
D-Drive 1.8k4-ae - Compact 1U 19" power amplifier with advanced SHARC‑based DSP, 4 x 300 W on 8 ohms, 4 x 450 W on 4 ohms, or 2 x 900 W in bridge mode, Webcon browser control, AES67 interface, flexible low Z 70 ‑ 100 V operation, audiophile-grade electronics components

D-Drive 1.8K4-Dante - Compact 1U 19" power amplifier with advanced SHARC‑based DSP, 4 x 300 W on 8 ohms, 4 x 450 W on 4 ohms, or 2 x 900 W in bridge mode, Webcon browser control, Dante interface, flexible low Z 70 ‑ 100 V operation, audiophile-grade electronics components

In just 1U rack, D-Drive 1.8k4 provides four amplification channels, with power up to 4 × 300 W into 8 ohms, 4 × 450 W into 4 ohms or 2 × 900 W in bridge mode, a configuration that also allows 70/100 V systems to be driven.
But it is above all in system management that the character of the new series stands out. The DSP based on the ADI Sharc platform, the 4×4 matrix and the numerous processing possibilities make it possible to build precise configurations and create dedicated presets for loudspeakers, reducing the need for external processors.
With the Webcon platform, configuration and control take place directly through a browser from a PC, tablet or smartphone. Monitoring, levels, mute and other system functions can thus be managed over the network, with the possibility of integration also with third-party systems.
The compact format and the flexibility of the connectivity make D-Drive particularly interesting for installers, system integrators and audio professionals looking for a solution capable of reducing the space occupied in the rack while at the same time centralizing various system functions.
In the video, Roberto Scioni goes into the details of the D-Drive architecture and shows why this new series represents something more than a traditional power amplifier.
